Diagnostic Report – Cooling Fan Inverter Drive
During inspection of the cooling fan’s inverter drive, we identified three major faults that prevent the unit from operating reliably:
1. Bad EMF Filter
• The electromagnetic filter, which protects the drive from electrical noise and interference, has failed.
• This can cause unstable operation and may affect other connected equipment.
2. Burnt Circuit Board
• The main control board shows visible burn damage.
• This indicates overheating or electrical stress, and the board can no longer function safely.
3. Defective IGBT Module
• The Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) module, which switches and controls power to the motor, is damaged.
• Without this module, the drive cannot regulate motor speed or deliver power effectively.
Impact
Because of these combined failures, the inverter drive is not repairable in its current state and poses a risk if operated. Replacement of the faulty components—or the entire drive unit—is required to restore safe and reliable cooling fan operation
